The Samworth Enterprise Academy opened as a brand new school, last September, and is a fantastic resource for the local community. I am delighted to be part of this new development and fully committed to making it a huge success. 

Last September we opened with children from 3 years of age up to Year 7 and this September will see this increasing up to Year 8. We will then continue to grow year on year up until 2011 when we will be at full capacity. We are currently over subscribed in most of our year groups, but are always happy to hold children’s names on our waiting list. 

As a Church of England School we promote a positive ethos and values, and are committed to driving this through all aspects of school life. We work in partnership with St. Christopher’s Church, which is co-located on the Academy site. We have a strong pastoral system with a range of professionals working together to meet the diverse needs of our school community.

Our focus on Business and Enterprise will support us in ensuring that we develop all our children as good citizens, and ensure that we give them the right learning opportunities to enable them to acquire the skills, qualifications and experience in order to access future work opportunities. We also have a particular focus on food, and are currently using this to drive forward a healthy schools agenda, as we believe that helping our children to eat healthily will also help them in achieving the success they deserve.

We have a strong focus on community engagement and already work very closely with our community providers and members of our local community, including our parents. We have an active parents group who support Academy developments and play an important part in the daily life of the school.

We are committed to developing a strong team of staff, with a range of skills and experience, who are committed to making a difference to our children. We have a strong focus on continual improvement and to individual professional development. We believe that every member of staff has a significant role to play in making the Academy a success. 

Our children are at the heart of everything we do and we work hard every day to ensure that EVERY CHILD MATTERS.
