Specialism
The Academy’s specialism is Business and Enterprise, with a focus on Food. In response to this all pupils within the Academy study our Enterprise Curriculum which is focused on ICT, Humanities and Citizenship in Phases One and Two, and on ICT, Business, Citizenship Development and Employability skills in Phase Three. This curriculum is supported and enhanced by the opportunity to access whole school, phase and year group Business and Enterprise opportunities to develop entrepreneurial skills and promote wider key skill development, including team working, organisation, independent learning, problem solving and many other skills.
As pupils move through the Academy they are provided with increased opportunities to take responsibility, to become ‘lead learners’, and to play key roles through volunteering and involvement in different school forums. Throughout all of these pupils are given the opportunity to develop new skills in order to help prepare them for future adult and working life.
Within Phase Three pupils can access and achieve a range of qualifications through the Enterprise Curriculum.
