Gifted and Talented @ Leicester High School

On Friday the 27th November 2009 some of the gifted and talented students will get the opportunity to take part in a business and enterprise event at Leicester High School for girls.

We wish them the best of luck and hope the day is enjoyable.

Full details of the day are below.

23-27 November 2009 is Enterprise Week, a national celebration of enterprise in all its forms, with thousands of events and activities all across the UK inspiring young people to be enterprising and make their ideas happen. As part of this initiative, Leicester High School for Girls will be holding an event on Friday 27 November. Prompted by current interest in making the best use of money and resources, this year’s theme is:

“Make Do and Mend”

Prizes will be awarded to teams winning ‘Best Product’, Best Marketing Strategy’, ‘Best Presentation’ and ‘Best Teamwork’ as well as a special award for the individual making an outstanding contribution. The event is free of charge and will, we hope, be a fun opportunity to explore new ideas and develop useful employment skills.

The teams will be given a task sheet outlining the different elements of the challenge. In order to benefit fully from the day’s activities, some advance preparation will be needed. The day will be school-based and we will be asking girls to come in 1940’s period-appropriate or business dress.
